College Students and Support for Women in Policing
Research shows that male college students are more accepting and supportive than male police officers of women who aspire to become a police officer. The results show that criminal justice majors support women in policing. If law enforcement agencies are truly trying to recruit more women, a good place to start could be with the criminal justice majors.
Advancing Women’s Leadership in Law Enforcement
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), which is a department of Homeland Security’s law enforcement training organization, hosted a week-long leadership training program to help promote and support women’s leadership and advancement in law enforcement, discuss current leadership challenges for women in law enforcement, and assist in career planning.
FLETC works hard to advance issues that impact women in law enforcement. They hold training programs for women in law enforcement internationally as well as in the United States. Thailand, Hungary, Botswana, and El Salvador are the other countries.
